Cooke spent training camp with the Blazers and earns their final two-way spot, completing the opening-night roster.
The Trail Blazers have filled their final open roster spot ahead of opening night, agreeing to sign guard Javonte Cooke to a two-way contract, a league source confirmed. ESPN first reported the news.
Cooke spent training camp and preseason with the Blazers and was waived on Friday. He appeared in the first three preseason games, not playing much but putting up nine points and three rebounds in the Oct. 8 preseason opener against Golden State.
While Cooke will likely spend a lot of time with the Rip City Remix this season, in the short term he will provide the Blazers with some added backcourt depth until Scoot Henderson and Matisse Thybulle return from their injuries.
Barring any last-minute changes, this will be the roster Portland submits to the NBA ahead of Monday's opening-week deadline to finalize rosters:
