Can the Trail Blazers Really Make the Play-In?
The Blazers say they don't want to tank. Is a postseason run actually realistic?
📍PORTLAND, Ore. — It should come as no surprise that the Trail Blazers—at least the players—are talking about pushing for the play-in.
No player or coach is ever going to say anything other than just that: they want to win every game and make the playoffs. And as of now, the organization doesn’t appear to be standing in the way of them, if they can make it happen.
But can they?
A Thursday loss to the Lakers, which looked early on like it was trending towards a blowout before a big quarter from Deni Avdija helped make it respectable, kicked off the post-All-Star portion of the Blazers’ schedule.
“We found our rhythm way too late,” Toumani Camara said. “I would say we were testing their temperature instead of being aggressive from the start. I think we woke up too late.”
The Blazers have a big stretch coming up, and a ways to climb in the standings. The next two weeks will determine where the season ends up.
