One of the Trail Blazers' key young players will be around for years to come. Fourth-year forward Nassir Little has agreed to a four-year, $28 million extension ahead of the Monday afternoon deadline for players from the 2019 draft class to extend their rookie deals, a source confirmed. The deal was first reported by ESPN.
Little entered training camp with a shot to win the job as the Blazers' starting small forward, which ultimately went to Josh Hart. Little had an up-and-down preseason and by his own admission wasn't back in peak physical form after undergoing season-ending shoulder surgery in February, followed by a core muscle surgery in May. He was in the midst of a breakout season before the injury, becoming a full-time starter and averaging career highs in most major statistical categories.
