The Trail Blazers have filled out the end of their roster, agreeing to a one-year deal with fourth-year guard Blake Wesley, a league source confirmed. HoopsHype first reported the agreement. Wesley's deal is fully guaranteed for one year, not a training camp invite, according to a source.
Wesley was a late first-round pick by San Antonio in 2022 after playing college basketball at Notre Dame. Through his first three seasons, he's averaged 4.3 points, 1.5 rebounds and 2.4 assists in 14.3 minutes per game. The Spurs traded him to Washington earlier in July for Kelly Olynyk, and he was waived by the Wizards on Saturday.
For the Blazers, Wesley is a deep bench piece to fill out their guard rotation. With Damian Lillard very likely missing the entire 2025-26 season to rehab his torn left Achilles, Portland's entire guard rotation for the upcoming season was set to be Scoot Henderson, Shaedon Sharpe and Jrue Holiday. Wesley is essentially filling the fourth guard spot Dalano Banton held last year. They also have rookie Caleb Love on a two-way contract, but he may spend a lot of time in the G League with the Rip City Remix.
Barring a trade, Portland's roster is essentially set now. They have all 15 roster spots filled with players on guaranteed contracts, and one open two-way spot that will likely remain open at the start of training camp as they either see who earns it in camp or who comes available throughout the league when teams make roster cuts ahead of opening night.
