Shaedon Sharpe Beats Out Jerami Grant For Trail Blazers' Final Opening-Night Starting Spot

📍TUALATIN, Ore. — It's been a good 48 hours to be Shaedon Sharpe.

Coming off signing a four-year, $90 million extension with the Trail Blazers, Sharpe will be in the opening-night starting lineup against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Wednesday.

After Tuesday's final practice heading into the regular season, Blazers coach Chauncey Billups made it official: Wednesday's starters will be Sharpe, Jrue Holiday, Toumani Camara, Deni Avdija and Donovan Clingan. Jerami Grant, who has started all 164 games he's played over three seasons in Portland, will come off the bench for the first time in his career since the COVID bubble in 2020 with the Denver Nuggets.
