Post-Thanksgiving Mailbag Questions, Plus Another Award Nomination
Taking questions during a Trail Blazers road trip.

As all of you know by now, I'm bad at self-promotion. I'm not nearly as active on social media as I used to be and I don't like talking too much about myself or my own accomplishments online.
But this was cool to see earlier this week:
This is the second time I've been nominated for this award. I won it two years ago (or tied, if you want to get technical, with my friend Demi Lawrence of the Portland Business Journal).
I don't chase this kind of stuff, but it's always an honor to be included. It's also a reminder that, despite being a one-man operation and not having the kind of promotional or distribution reach of more established media outlets, people are seeing my work. That's a good feeling.
This is as good a time as any to make the pitch again that if you like the work I'm doing, and want to help me keep it going, the best way to do that is to become a paid subscriber. You may have noticed that I've covering a lot more Trail Blazers games on the road so far this season than I have before, more than any other local outlet. That level of travel isn't cheap, but it's worth it to me because I think the best way to cover the team is to be around as much as possible. My paid subscribers are the ones that make that possible, and that money gets put back into the coverage you get.
The downside of traveling as much as I have this season is that I haven't had time to do a mailbag yet since training camp started. I usually like to do those every month or two, to hear from you, my readers, about what you're interested in. The last time I did one was early August—before we knew who was buying the team, before the head coach was arrested and before we knew how the starting-lineup questions would shake out.
Needless to say, there's a lot to catch up on.
The Blazers' four-game road trip next week (a tough one—Toronto, Cleveland, Detroit and Memphis) is the first trip I'm missing this season. Between that and the schedule calming down in the middle of December, with a lot more off days, it feels like a good time to take a breath and see what questions you have.
As usual, if you're a paid subscriber, you can leave a comment with your question. If you're not and want to participate, hit the button below to upgrade. I'll get to as many as I can over the next week.
