Sarah Ashlee Barker's Buzzer-Beater Was 'Portland Fire 101'
Portland won its first WNBA game since 2002 against the New York Liberty.
The Trail Blazers' head coach is on leave while he faces federal gambling-related charges.
Following Chauncey Billups' Oct. 23 arrest on federal gambling-related charges, the Trail Blazers' head coach was placed on unpaid leave by the NBA.
Billups was arraigned in federal court on Nov. 24 on charges of wire fraud conspiracy and money laundering conspiracy in connection with an alleged rigged underground poker game. He has pled not guilty on both charges.
Billups' status with the Blazers remains in a holding pattern while the case plays out in court, which could take upwards of a year. But the recent sale of his home in Lake Oswego would suggest that he doesn't expect to return to his job with the team even if he's eventually cleared of wrongdoing.
